ADHD Therapy in Philadelphia, PA
Learn to work with your brain – not against it – and create the life you've been dreaming about living
Have you spent your life hearing things like “Why can’t you [X]?”, “You should just [Y]”, and “Have you tried [Z]?” Many adults with ADHD have great ideas they can't put into action due to problems getting started, sustaining attention, and finishing tasks. If you're constantly misplacing your keys, wallet, phone, and glasses, you likely need better systems, rather than your spouse or roommate telling you to just get it together already. You wish you had more time to be with your friends and your partner instead of scrambling all the time to keep up with “adulting” tasks and work. When you come home from work, you feel like you're bouncing from one thing to the next and never really finishing anything.
Instead of lectures and criticism, ADHD brains benefit from environments where they can shine. Therapy will help you understand yourself and address the practical, emotional, and regulatory (self-care) aspects of managing your ADHD. Along the way, you'll learn about the science of ADHD brains and how to harness your unique gifts. Together, we’ll work to build a life you love.
FAQ about ADHD Therapy
-
No. Even if you haven't formally been diagnosed with ADHD (or don't fully meet the criteria), we can still work together to help you address common challenges. Whether you're struggling with your relationships, work, self-care, or just managing your life, I'd be happy to help you.

Medication can be really helpful with some aspects of managing ADHD (including issues with inattention, focus, and starting on tasks), but it doesn't teach you about the science or the skills you need to make your life better. Understanding why you're having certain challenges is a big part of ADHD therapy too. Additionally, many adults with ADHD (especially those who were diagnosed later on) struggle with feelings of shame and inadequacy due to a lifetime of living in a world not built for their unique strengths and challenges. Therapy can help you work on difficult emotions, along with the big feelings that frequently are part of the ADHD experience.

The literature indicates that a holistic, multi-dimensional approach to ADHD works best. This means considering all the different factors that may help, such as medication, therapy tailored to ADHD brains, sleep, nutrition, exercise, meditation. The most effective therapy for you will be adapted to your personal needs and preferences.
